On behalf of the REM Tech Office, we would like to welcome newest Drone Engineer Lauren Natal from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio TX!

Lauren A Natal Headshot

Lauren is in her third year at St. Mary’s and is loving every minute of it! She got involved with engineering in general, back in high school. Lauren applied to her local high school’s magnet correspondence, John Jay Science and Engineering Academy. She later chose Mechanical engineering because it’s a very broad field of engineering where one could
choose between a variety of different career paths.

She then slowly starting getting involved in Drones.Β  What she finds most interesting about drones is that they can give us a point of view that would be extremely hard to obtain otherwise.Β  “I first noticed drones when I started a work study position in the drone lab at St Mary’s University. I recognized their capabilities the first time I actually flew a drone and saw it’s camera functions”.Β  After graduation, she is setting her sights on aerospace/automotive or general manufacturing engineering.

When asked about her favorite Drone to fly: “My favorite drone that I have flown so far is the DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine. It has incredible camera clarity and capabilities. Also, the controls are user-friendly in my opinion”.

When she is not flying Drones or getting more involved in engineering, she has an unique hobby of taking pictures of the ever elusive squirrel! Whenever she sees them in parks or at school she is snapping away!
“Another one of my interests is Disney, I would describe as a ‘Disney Adult’ as people say. I love all things Disney, My favorite characters are Marie and Gus-Gus! Lastly, Harry Potter is another of my favorite things. I read the book in elementary
school and fell in love with the franchise”, adds Lauren.

“We are very excited to have Lauren apart of the REM Team and to see what she can add to this growing company”, adds REM Partner Kenny McKinney.

“I am incredibly grateful and honored to be a part of the REM Tech family and to be the company’s first intern. I look forward to working with the company and learning how they operate. I would like to thank REM Tech for welcoming me to their work family and giving me this amazing opportunity”!
